CJ7

Stephen Chow are you on drugs?

Exoxoxoxoxoxo

Exo-skeletons in development.

Clayaples:
holy cow, Robocop. Future of combat right there, an army of Terminators saying chessy lines like, "I'll be baK" with each reload lol.

Anyone else feeling the Exo-Squad vibe here?

Muscle Mimicry

Photographic Reflexes or Muscle Mimicry, however you'd like to explain it is the big deal today. I just recently caught up with Heroes season 2 and saw what all the hubbub was about: Monica Dawson (Dana Davis).

Culinary Art preparation is one thing, playing piano is another, but when you copy a dropkick like El Rey Mysterio, DAMN! She's now my favorite hero at the moment. Writers were most likely taking big cues from known muscle mimics: Taskmaster and "Echo" Maya Lopez. Copying other heroes' fighting moves were their claim to fame and now that she's been armed with a video ipod haha GG. Hope her character gets expanded upon or maybe comes in close proximity to Peter. Let's face it, if Peter gets muscle mimicry, he'll be pretty much overpowered in normal convention against any other hero. Not even Sylar could touch him.

619 Indeed.

Kurosawa Tiem

Some of Akira Kurosawa's films have fallen into public domain such as Rashomon and Ikiru. What does that mean for you? It means you better have some free time to waste

Hang Drum

A recently developed instrument from Sweden that was created from studying percussion instruments such as the steel drum. I really want one due to it's sweet tone and compact size but these babies aren't mass produced...yet.

oh gawd, jaw harp duo!

Here's a pretty good close attempt at imitating the ability of a hang drum using an empty propane tank.

Knight Rider Until you DIE

Newspost Here

If KITT transforms on this one then im on board

Whoopty Fucking doo...a new Knight Rider. I'm not sure if I can stomach another Knight Rider spin-off. 2 straight-to-tv movies and a drudgery of a tv series (Team Knight Rider, though I watched it since there wasn't much else to watch) left a sour taste in my mouth. While the plot may seem affable, I'll still have my reservations.

Team Knight Rider.

So I herd u liek Metroids?

Up for display today is some Samus cosplay. While the whole suit hasn't been solidly constructed, pretty damn good job Pixel Ninja!

(bonus points on the weathering and blood effects)

Seen any good costuming efforts lately? Just link me and I'll check it out.

Sci-fi down and out?

Newspost HERE

Sir Ridley Scott likes to think so, but are they really down and out?

My buddy and I beg would like to differ:

Clayapples:
I like Ridley but I still believe there is room to expand. Kinda funny but at comic con Ridley said he'd be interested in another alien film. I think he'll do another sci-fi film if the script is fresh. Besides, everyone ripped off Ridley Scott's scifi style and Ridley ripped off Kubric

Sci-fi films that we can expect now or later: AvP2, Jumper, Star Trek XI, Avatar, Iron Man, Robotech, and so much more. While video games aren't directly related, recent games such as Halo 3 and Mass Effect have shown that sci-fi is still a favorable genre.

Ridley backlashing and trying to stay within publicity's reach? Maybe.
Sci-Fi films dead as westerns? Oh Hell no.

Off-topic, with the advent of 3:10 To Yuma, it only shows signs that their maybe renewed interests in revitalizing the western genre if done right.

PPSSP, Vin Diesel executively produced Hitman...lol

Beowulf

I am Beowulf!

Caught a 3D showing of Beowulf on its first day. It's a pretty solid flick on its own and the 3D enhances the action sequences rather nicely (great moaning jugs!). Neil fucking Gaiman and Roger Avary had some fun with reinterpreting the story, while pacing seems off at times, they make the plot and relationships much simpler to process for the audience.

Final Verdict: it's a bit above a wait-for-rental flick, so if you decide to watch it, make sure you catch it in 3D at an IMAX or whatnot. Some great action sequences for CG!

Frickin JJ

Newspost HERE

Again you toy with us and try to manipulate our minds elsewhere.
Oh the tangled webs we weave, to trick and to deceive.

Fan-Guess-Art Cloverfield Monster

30 Days O' Nite

Another graphic novel translated onto the big screen movie. Pleasant at best with good pacing, yet nothing too scary. Josh Hartnett as a lead role was a bit stiffling but he did ok. The plot resolution twist by the end however, I found a bit interesting if not conventional by comic standards.

I've never checked out the original source, so I wiki'ed a bit and found that there was already a veritable universe with multiple stories already published. As can be seen on both paper and in the movie, everything is approached as "how'd we deal with vamps in a modern setting". It works to a certain extent for the thrill factor, but after that theres nothing so special about these vamps than...brace yourselves...Blade (yeah I know lame comparison). Call me simple, but I like that extra punch to character depth if we're dealing with the supernatural.

Final Verdict: Rent and go read the comics. Vamp mobs with guns lol.

BAMF!

New movie Jumper. I'm sorry Kurt Wagner but these guys make your abilities look like cheap pet tricks.
